Not as much as some people we know but still a lot. We bought a new bike for my wife, and then two weeks later I got laid off. Doh! Spending money shopping is a sword that cuts twice. Not only are you out the money, but you have more clutter in your house on top of it. On the other hand I don't quite understand "buy nothing day." We don't buy anything at least 4 days most weeks. Some weeks all 7 days, though other weeks (for instance on vacation) we spend money every day obviously. In the end though, I don't even regret getting that bike. We are saving plenty of money and more often than not the choices we make to spend our money are mindful, deliberate choices.
