Welcome to PFI and the weekly updates – The Organization Edition. One of the most difficult parts of creating passive income is to keep your tasks under control. It can be incredibly easy to drift from one project to the next while never completing anything. Not staying focused on a particular task is one of my weaknesses, which requires constant monitoring in order to be successful.
One way that I try to stay focused on particular tasks I am working on is to be more organized. While being organized doesn’t necessarily prevent you staying on Twitter all night instead of working on an eBook or other project – it can help you plan out your day. For example, every evening I write a few tasks down that I plan on completing the next day. I have found this to be a very helpful and organized way to stay on track.
Being organized is not only important when building passive income streams or running a business – it can also come in handy in your everyday life. Organizing your personal finances can help to prevent missing your monthly payments as well as having a clear understanding of where your money is being spent. It can also help cut out waste and pushes you towards continuous improvement.
I will admit that I have a long way to go in completely being organized but I have made some strides and have seen how it can really help!
Personal Finance Blog of the Week
As part of my effort to meet my personal finance goals for 2009, I plan to visit other personal finance blogs and help promote the good ones anyway I can. Each week I will write a short review of a site that I believe is worthwhile checking out.
- Moolanomy – The personal finance site called Moolanomy was one of the very first blogs that I started following over a year ago. I personally found a lot of motivation by reading this site on a daily basis which eventually gave me the inspiration to start PFI. Pinyo, the owner of the site writes on topics about investing and saving for retirement, getting out of debt, making the most of the dollars you have, and much more! I can honestly say that this is in my Top 5 favorite blogs and would recommend it to anyone. Stop over (if you haven’t already) and say hello to Pinyo @ Moolanomy.
Carnivals
I participated in the following carnival over the past week. Please check out some of the great reads from this carnival!
- Carnival of Personal Finance #205: Pay it Forward Edition – (May 18, 2009) Personal Finance Lessons I Learned Growing Up – hosted by Wise Bread.
Articles I liked
Here are a couple articles I enjoyed over the past week that come with a organization theme. Please check them out and enjoy.
1 – My Two Dollars points out 5 ways to remove clutter from your life. The same can be said about any passive income streams you are busy working on. The less cluttered you are, the more organized and efficient you will be.
2 – Money Energy gives us ways to stabilize our income if we are self employed.
3 – Fiscal Fizzle gives us a ton of helpful tools to help track your finances. I am a firm believer in tracking even the smallest expenses and income to understand where your money is going. This post offers some very helpful tools to organize your personal finances!
Have an wonderful week!
