Welcome to PFI and the weekly updates – Passive Income Streams Edition. In exciting news (to me at least), my subscription count was set at 100 this morning! Not that it is a huge deal, but is one of those little passive income goals that can help keep me motivated. Thanks to all the subscribers for pushing me into triple digits!

This is a new year now and I am completely dedicated to building up my passive income streams. I am very encouraged and excited about all the opportunities that are available. I also appreciate all of the other great personal finance sites out there that discuss generating passive income (see Articles I liked this week below for a few). In today’s cyber world, there are endless ways to create these forms of income (not to mention more traditional streams like rental properties), which I plan on building over the course of the year. Whether it be writing articles on eHow, possibly purchasing a rental property, or starting a new niche site (special thanks to Cash Money Life for some added motivation), I am very excited about the coming year.

Carnivals
January 5, 2009 – I participated in the Carnival of Personal Finance: Fairy Tale Edition hosted by Clever Dude. This was a very unique carnival posted as Clever Dude wrote a fairy tale using the titles of submitted posts within that article. If you have not read it yet – go take a look at the post. I was fortunate to have my post – Control Your Home Heating Costs included in this tale!

December 31, 2008
I also participated in the Money Hacks Carnival – New Year’s Eve Edition hosted by Cash Money Life. I had a post included in the carnival that provided tips on how we save money on our home heating costs. Special thanks to Cash Money Life for including my post.

Articles I liked this week
Sticking with the theme, I am listing my favorite articles posted on the topic Passive Income Streams. Here are some of my favorites -

1Amateur Asset Allocator provides some New Years Resolutions and talks about focusing on article marketing for the upcoming year.

2 – Pat from The Smart Passive Income Blog provides an update on his second month of writing articles on eHow. He only wrote a few articles in December and saw his earnings shoot up just from all the November articles written. This is an excellent example of passive income at it’s best. Great job Pat!

3 – Dustin at Experimental Blogging gives us his latest passive income results and the success he has had with several different streams.

4eRollover talks about income annuities which is another form of passive income for your retirement years.

5Passive Streams posts passive income goals for 2009.

Have an excellent week and good luck in 2009!

Thanks for the roundup of the week. I am curious about how you go to the point of participating in blogging carnivals. Could you tell us a bit more about that, and the plusses of doing so?

Thanks for the link my friend. I, like Steve, am interested in how you find the available carnivals to participate in. Sounds like a good eHow article!
