I will be out of town early next week to attend a funeral for a family member. Because of this unexpected trip and the upcoming holidays, I am looking for some guest posts. If you are interested in writing a guest post, just submit a comment to this post and I will get back in touch with you. You can write about anything to do with personal finance – your choice.
Welcome to PFI and the weekly updates – Let It Snow Edition. The weather has been crazy all over the country the past week. I guess it is officially winter on the calendar so it shouldn’t be a surprise. Christmas is just a few days away and in just over a week we will ring in the new year. The new year will be difficult as we begin to forget about the holiday shopping season and will start to turn all of our attention on the global recession and our new President who will take office. I think things will get tougher during the year but will begin to turn around by this time next year. Sometimes you have to be broken down before you can be built back up again. I know that I will be looking to invest some of my hard earned income generated from PFI back into the stock market and other investments. I looked forward to the coming year to find new opportunities out there for passive income.
Carnivals
December 22, 2008 – I participated in the The Carnival of Personal Finance #184: From the Land Down Under hosted by Saving to Invest. I would like to thank Saving to Invest for including my post – Saving Money – An important lesson for children as an editor’s pick!
December 17, 2008 – I participated in the Money Hacks Carnival – I’d rather be surfing carnival hosted by liberta. I would like to thank liberta for hosting the carnival and including my post Christmas Lights – How long to keep them on?.
Articles I liked this week
Sticking with the theme, I am listing my favorite articles posted with the topic of Let It Snow. Here are some of my favorites -
1 – Dawn at Fighting Foreclosure gives us some frugal wintertime tips.
2 – Frugal Dad gives us a list of last minute gift ideas that don’t require going out into the cold and snowy weather.
3 – Amateur Asset Allocator tells us how to stay out of the cold this winter by providing tips on how to handle an eviction threat. This could come in handy this winter for a lot of people who are dealing with the struggling economy.
Have an excellent week and Merry Christmas!
