Another month has passed and it is time to report my passive income earnings that have been generated from eHow. Last month was a trying time as a member of eHow, with the fallout from the article sweeps that were conducted. I was fortunate enough to have only lost 3 articles and had backed up my copies to use elsewhere. Hopefully all that is behind us now with the recent changes implemented at eHow to pre-screen members submitted articles.
I actually took most of the month off from eHow in order to focus on building other passive income streams, such as Info Barrel. I only found time to publish 2 new articles during the month and had my first monthly decrease in earnings.
Here is my monthly recap.
November Updates
The month of November was a slow month for me publishing articles on eHow. It was also a month that brought my first ever decline in monthly earnings. I saw a (9.3%) decrease in earnings compared to October. Was my drop in income due to the article sweeps carried out by eHow? I honestly don’t believe so as I only lost 3 articles, of which 1 earned any kind of income. I actually saw a big drop in daily earnings during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend which threw off my monthly numbers.
Here is the breakdown of my eHow earnings from the past 15 months -
- November (2009)
- Earnings – $230.28
- Articles Published – 2
- October (2009)
- Earnings – $253.84
- Articles Published – 4
- September (2009)
- Earnings – $223.79
- Articles Published – 12
- Year #1
- Earnings – $656.48
- Articles Published – 224
GRAND TOTAL (15 Months)
- Earnings – $1,364.39
- Articles Published – 242
- Articles Deleted from eHow – 13
Are you looking for a free way to start increasing your income? If so, eHow is one option that allows you to accomplish this goal. There are people just like you earning over a $1,000 each month on a recurring basis just by writing “How To” articles. If you are new to eHow, one place to start is by checking out a great resource called – How to Earn Passive Income on eHow.com: Maximize Your Online Earnings. I purchased this resource several months ago and have made my money back within the first month using the guidelines laid out.
100 Article eHow Challenge – November Results
Back in August I conducted the 100 Article eHow Challenge, where I had a goal to accelerate my earnings to the next level. I didn’t end up finishing 100 articles, but published a respectable 72 instead. To show how successful this challenge has been and what it has meant to my eHow earnings, I have decided to track the results each month.
Here are my earnings from the 100 Article eHow Challenge -
- August – $119.48
- September – $113.95
- October – $75.47
- November – $73.45
Total Earnings – $382.35
As you can tell, my monthly earnings from this challenge have dropped each month since they were published. I believe that overtime these earnings will start to rise once the articles have been published for several months.
Final Thoughts
Ever since I completed the 100 article challenge back in August, I haven’t written very much new material for eHow. Over the next several months, I plan to step it up a little and increase my eHow earnings by 100% (or a little more now). The goal is to earn $500 per month in sustainable income through eHow. In order to hit my target, I will be spending more time writing for eHow again!
Did you see a drop in your eHow earnings this past month?

Strangest thing happened to me. The three articles I had lost in the october sweep ended up coming back. I don’t know if they’re back for good or just another eHow glitch. I guess I shouldn’t look the proverbial “gift horse” in the mouth.
Did anyone else have articles return?

@Reed – Sounds like a system glitch. It seems that eHow has plenty of them with their system. I still have discrepancies showing up in some of my earnings from several months ago.

Wow! Nice income you’ve got there. Is eHow applicable to writers from our country Philippines? I bet I can write well for eHow just as I used to write in my blog.
Anyway, nice income report there. Truly passive income.

@Millionaire Acts – Thanks. No, eHow is only available to writers in the US. I think they have opened it up to those in the UK but am not completely sure.

Millionair Acts,
I believe only people in the US will get paid for writing on eHow. Actually, here it is: http://www.ehow.com/about_us/faq_ehow.aspx#q61

Your ehow Articles came back? That’s a new one. Ehow is a great idea but the publishing software is awful. I just wish they could get their act together.
