Passive Income eHow Updates – March (2009)

in Passive Income Results

I have been writing articles on eHow now for over seven months as a way to earn passive income. While the first few months were slow for earnings as well as the number of articles I wrote – things have really started taking off over the past couple of months. I have seen double digit earnings increases month to month this year and have increased my output of articles which should show up in my earnings in a few months down the road. I would highly recommend anyone interested in starting a free passive income stream to check out eHow!

I now spend an average of 15 – 20 minutes every day building this passive income opportunity. That translates into about 10 hours spent each month working to help my family reach our goal of becoming financially independent. Calculating my dollars per hour earnings from this work – last month I made about ~$4.00 / hour on my efforts. Looking at the numbers, that may not seem that impressive. But if you look at the details of the numbers you will realize that only 10% of my earnings for the past month came from articles I wrote during that month. That means the other 90% of my earnings from last month were a result of 0 hours of my time spent. All that hard work had been done in the past. If I had decided to completely stop writing articles last month, I would have still earned that 90% that I noted above. That is the power of passive income and why it can change your life!

Top Five Money Earners for March
Each month I like to highlight my top earning articles to determine if I can identify areas and topics that are doing better than others. This helps identify ideas for future topics and articles as well as points out any current trends. Here are my top five money earners from the previous month –

  1. How to Sell Covered Call Options – $9.28
  2. How to save money using coupons – $3.56
  3. How to Find Discount Grocery Coupons – $2.22
  4. How to Install a Flat Screen TV Wall Mount – Things to Consider Before Making a Purchase – $2.14
  5. How to Buy a Call Option for Profit – $1.89

Looking at my list of top five money earning articles for March, I have noticed that two trends from last month are still going strong. The first trend is from articles that highlight stock options trading. Two of my top five articles fall into this category with several other similar articles doing very well that are only a few months old. The other trend that showed up again is around coupons. I expect these articles will continue to do well as the economy worsens and people are searching for coupons to use.

Top Earning Article
I wanted to highlight my top earning article from the past seven months. This article is the same one as my top March earner and was actually my very first article written on eHow. How to Sell Covered Call Options has earned $29.34 since last September! That one article alone makes up almost 27% of my total eHow earnings. This just goes to show you that you shouldn’t get frustrated if your articles are not earning money. Keep writing quality content and the earnings will eventually come in!

Are you still debating about using eHow as a passive income resource?

Congrats my friend. Those are some nice earnings. I love the fact that as long as eHow remains a viable website, we will continue to earn income from a HIGH page rank site. Passive income is truly an amazing thing.

You’ve inspired me to get back into the water when it comes to writing articles. I remember reading a book by Robert Allen, author of Multiple Streams of Income. He calculated that each word he wrote was worth x dollars, or something like that. So, he would add up all the words on a page and multiply it. It was quite inspiring to see how much money he was making, and I am sure it helped his writers’ block :)

Thanks so much for the excellent article on ehow and for being transparent about your earnings. I have been considering this venue for a few weeks and your articles are some of the clearest and most concise on the subject.
