Passive Income eHow Updates – August (2009)

I have officially been writing articles on eHow for one full year now. It is amazing how much I have learned in the past year about writing online content, especially for eHow. Just last September I brought in $1.46 in passive income earnings from 7 articles that I wrote. Fast forward 11 months and I just completed my 100 Article eHow Challenge, which has pushed my earnings past $200 per month!

The month of August started out extremely slow with eHow earnings for myself and several other writers. In fact, the first day I earned about $.80, only to back that up with the next couple days earning around $1 each day. Towards the middle through the end of the month things really took off again with the earnings. I even had a few daily increases of over $15.

eHow Dollars per Hour Earnings

Since I was focusing on my 100 Article eHow Challenge during August, I logged a lot of hours. I am estimating that it took me around 35 minutes on average to publish one article on eHow during August. These numbers reflect an average of the entire time spent on an article including keyword research, writing, editing, and publishing.

I wrote a total of 72 articles in August, which means I spent around 42 hours (35 minutes per article) on building my eHow earnings. That means I earned $4.91 per hour for the time I spend during the month. Less than $5 per hour may not really seem that great to the average person, but to me it is very significant. I have sacrificed a lot of my time upfront in order to see the rewards later on in the future. Stay tuned to my status on earnings per hour, as I anticipate some incredible returns in the coming months.

August was a break through month as an eHow writer. I published 72 articles and saw my passive income earnings increase by 66% compared with July. The end of the past month also marked a one year anniversary as an eHow writer.

100 Article eHow Challenge – Final Results

So I posted several updates during the month of Augst detailing my status on the 100 Article eHow Challenge. I am disappointed that I didn’t meet my goal and hope to still have credibility with my readers here at PFI. It actually really bothered me that I ran out of steam at the end and didn’t hit my goals. However, I won’t let this get me down and will keep setting goals starting with the 30 HubPages & 20 eHow Article Challenge for September!

Here are the final results for the articles I wrote as part of this challenge.

• Earnings – $119.48

Yes, I actually took in almost $120 just from those 72 articles I published in August. Considering that I made $124.27 back in July from all the articles I had written in the past 11 months (152), I would say this challenge was a HUGE success. Keep in mind that these are 1st months earnings from articles that have been published in the past days or weeks and have not had time to really get picked up by the search engines.
