Welcome to the 66th Edition of the Money Hacks Carnival – The Family Summer Vacation Edition! I am honored to host my first ever blog carnival. I have fully enjoyed reading all the great posts that were submitted for this week’s event. Unfortunately, with so many submitted articles, I wasn’t able to include all of them in today’s post.

With Memorial Day having come and gone, it is now the official summer vacation season! I know that my family will be taking several “day” vacations this year to take a break from our hectic lives and spend some quality family time together. So often we get caught up in the daily rat race that we don’t sit back and truly appreciate the life we have been given and the people around us. What better way to enjoy friends and relatives than the family summer vacation!

Editor’s Picks

The Magic Kingdom is one of the most visited family vacation destinations in the world – which is why it will highlight today’s Editor’s Picks. This was a very tough decision to make, but here are my Top 5 articles for the week.

Investing

New York City

New York City is normally a top family vacation destination during the summertime. What better way to highlight our Investing posts than by visiting the financial capital of the world!

Taxes

Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. is a popular location to take children if you are looking to mix in some history and government lessons for the family. Since the nation’s capital is responsible for the majority of your Taxes, it highlight’s this weeks single post on the topic.

Frugality & Saving Money

Great Smoky Mountains

Speaking of Frugality & Saving Money, The Great Smoky Mountains offer some of the most frugal vacation opportunities for your family. Camping and hiking typically don’t cost a lot of money and are abundant in this national park.

Debt & Credit

Hawaii

Thinking of a tropical getaway? Then head to Hawaii! If you are worried about going into Debt traveling to Hawaii this summer, you may be surprised. I have actually heard from some friends that there are incredible deals this summer to visit Hawaii. Take advantage of the economic downturn if you can by visiting this tropical destination.

Insurance

Outer Banks

Provided these locations are current with their hurricane Insurance, visiting the Outer Banks can be a wonderful place to enjoy the beach with your family this summer.

Economy

Chicago

Chicago offers tons of activities for all types of families. You can help stimulate the Economy by visiting this vacation destination.

Career

Grand Canyon

You could make a full time Career by visiting all the different places in the Grand Canyon. Visiting national parks can help limit costs on your vacation compared to alternative options.

Other

Local Playground

Taking “day” vacations can be a great opportunity to save money by visiting local attractions. This Other vacation option can help stimulate the local economy while providing a great time for your family.

Well, that completes this edition. Please do your part to promote this carnival post anyway you feel you can. Thanks again for stopping by!
