How do you find motivation to keep on building your business? Maybe you are motivated by the fact that you are tired of working a 9 to 5 job? Some could be motivated by fears of not having enough money to support their families through this economic downturn. There are plenty of ways people find motivation and sources of inspiration.
One of my favorite places to find inspiration is to read what other bloggers are writing about. There are a ton of great people out there posting valuable content for FREE. More importantly, a lot of this content can be just enough to stay focused on the end game.
To help close out the year, I have put together a list of my 10 favorite posts in the past year. These posts have helped to keep me going this past year and will continue to be looked upon for a source of inspiration!
10 Posts That Should Help Keep You Motivated in the New Year
- On Dying, Mothers, and Fighting for Your Ideas (at Copyblogger, by Jonathan Morrow) – By far, one of the best posts I have read in a very long time. There are no more excuses after reading this post. Stop complaining about why your business is not making any money and do something about it!
- My Income Reports (at Smart Passive Income, by Pat Flynn) – Not one post here. Instead, I have included Pat Flynn’s collection of monthly income reports on my top 10 list for this year. These monthly updates always seem to motivate me every month to keep pressing on. They are a great point of reference to see what is actually possible if you put your mind to something.
- No More Excuses – How to Make an Extra $100,000 in the Next 6 Months (at The Blog of Tim Ferriss, by Tim Ferriss) – Haven’t heard of Tim Ferriss? Go read this post and then his book The 4-Hour Workweek. If that doesn’t inspire you to go out and build your business, nothing will.
- How Can You Make Passive Income Online? (at Entrepreneur’s Journey, by Yaro Starak) – If your goal is to create passive income this new year, then this is a great resource to start with. Yaro is one of the best motivators I have come across in regards to making money online.
- How To Make 15,000.00 In 1 Month Just By Tweeting (at ShoeMoney, by Jeremy Schoemaker) – Don’t think Twitter can be a useful source of income? Think again. Check out this post as a place to start building an income stream using Twitter (for FREE)!
- How to make money with a blog (at Christian PF, by Bob) – If you are looking to take your blog to the next level, then check out Bob’s post on how to make money with a blog. This post is full of details and is a great reference to use if you are looking to start earning income through your blog.
- How to Make $30,000 a year Blogging (at ProBlogger, by Darren Rowse) – If you are serious about blogging, then you can never go wrong with reading ProBlogger. Darren Rowse, the ultimate professional blogger, can help to inspire your dreams of quitting that 9 to 5 job and earn serious income through blogging.
- 10 Things Your Mamma Never Told You About Internet Marketing (at PotPieGirl.com, by PotPieGirl) – Want to get serious about internet marketing? PotPieGirl provides a great list of tips that can help inspire you to start making some serious money.
- Using the News to Spot Innovative Business Ideas (at erica.biz, by Erica Douglass) – Can’t find the inspiration to find that next business idea? The news is a place I have started looking to in order to find new ideas and sources of inspiration for my business. This is a great post to help you start thinking outside the box.

Final Thoughts
The past year was filled with many ups and downs in the global economy. While most of the bad news appears to have bottomed out, there is still no better time to launch your own business. The most important thing to remember is to never let your dreams die. Hopefully the 10 posts I have listed above can help give you some inspiration in the coming year.
