My ex and I had two, and now the house I am in has an apartment unit in it. It is not NEARLY as passive as it seems. Already (after taking over as landlord 9 days ago) I am working fixing her toilet. On a Foreclosure too, you may have to do A LOT of work to bring it up to code. Not saying it isn't worth it, but it is something to think about. I own rental properties.
