The Kmart Layaway for the Holidays promotion is broken down into 4 simple steps -

Shop for your gifts - The first step in the process is to simply shop for your gifts as you normally would.
Take gifts to layaway counter at your local Kmart - Once you have selected your holiday gifts, you take them to the layaway counter at Kmart and pay a small down payment on the items.
Bi-weekly payments - Once you have put the items on layaway, you are required to make bi-weekly payments on your items at the Kmart store.
Take home items - The final step is to pick up your items once they are completely paid for.

The Kmart layaway program has some restrictions on gift items that include products such as - cigarettes, alcohol, prescription drugs, chemicals, plants, and more. The program also allows you to make your payments using most major credit cards including - MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover.

Under the current economic crisis, it has become imperative to cut personal spending to free up cash positions. My family has cut back on unnecessary expenses while working to reduce our grocery and utility expenses. Unfortunately, one area that is difficult to reduce or cut back on is the medical expense category. Having two young children, it is hard to keep a handle on these expenses, especially with the upcoming cold and flu season.

There is one option available that could help reduce any expenses for eyeglasses. Zenni Optical offers incredible savings on prescription eye wear that is unmatched by any of its competitors. Fortunately, I have excellent eyesight, as do my two young boys. My wife on the other hand, does not have good vision and requires contacts and glasses.

Our current employer sponsored insurance plan for vision coverage is very limited. This prevents my wife from having her vision checked annually, along with purchasing any new eyeglasses. Recently, our youngest son broke her only pair of glasses. The break was not fixable, so she had no choice but to get a new pair.
