The third week of my 30 HubPage – 20 eHow Article Challenge has now completed. Unfortunately I have not been able to reach the success of last month’s 100 Article eHow Challenge. Due to time constraints with my job and active income source, I have fallen behind on my goals. There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day right now to actively work on building my passive income streams. I didn’t even get around to posting the results from week #2!
In order to save extra hours in the day, I have written fewer articles on PFI so I could focus on other sources of income. I have also tried to maximize my time by taking advantage of the following tools and practices.
- Batching – I have written about this many times already here, but I try to batch as many of my passive income tasks as I possible can. I have done it with my eHow articles and have picked up this practice now for my Hubs. On a given day, I may write 5 Hubs using a text editor and then later in the week will go and publish these articles. As my time becomes more and more precious, I will continue to leverage this practice as much as possible.
- Keyword Research – I have found that using the Micro Niche Finder Keyword Software tool has helped me save time writing my Hubs. While I have used it with some success for my eHow articles, I believe it helps a lot more researching keywords for writing Hubs. More to come on this tool later!
- Cutting the Fat – There is no time for any waste in my day, so I have tried to cut out any fat that I can. For example, I have started reading email only once per day and have tried to eliminate all unnecessary tasks that I possible can.
Week #3 Updates
Here are my results from September 1, 2009 – September 18, 2009 -
HubPage Articles
- Published Articles – 14
- Article Views – 128
My HubPage results are not all that impressive for the month. I still believe I can hit 30 published articles which should set me up nicely for future projects. I have found it a little difficult figuring out how to track my earnings from these articles, but estimate I have earned a few bucks in the past couple weeks.
My goal for these Hubs is not to earn income directly from them (although I won’t turn it down!). Instead, I am setting up several articles focusing on keywords that I am interested in writing about. These Hubs should eventually pave the way for setting up niche blogs in the future.
eHow Articles Published
- Week #1 – 1
- Week #2 – 0
- Week #3 – 6
- Total – 7
eHow Total Views & Earnings
- Article Views – 59
- Income Earned – $1.97
My eHow stats are nowhere near what they were a month ago, which is okay with me (for now). I needed to branch out and diversify from eHow. My goal is still to reach 20 new published articles by the end of September.
Are you looking for a free way to start increasing your income? If so, eHow is one option that allows you to accomplish this goal. There are people just like you earning over a $1,000 each month on a recurring basis just by writing “How To” articles. If you are new to eHow, one place to start is by checking out a great resource called – How to Earn Passive Income on eHow.com: Maximize Your Online Earnings. I purchased this resource several months ago and have made my money back within the first month using the guidelines laid out.
How are your monthly goals coming along?

I can understand how things are getting the way. But I think your plan with HubPages is a great one. I focused my Hubs around batches of topics (i.e. 10 Hubs on one niche, 5 Hubs on another…). It’s already shown me some clear niches that I know can be successful with niche blogs. Great way to test the waters. Now, I just need to find the time to actually set up those niche blogs!

@Web Career Girl – I like the new Gravatar. Looks Classy!
Thanks, I am actually making some AdSense earnings with these articles, but not a lot. I have a niche blog that I find hard to keep updating content on. Once that one is set, I will start to focus on other ones.
Keep up the great work!
