Now that September has come to a rest, it is time to report the final results of my latest challenge. For the second straight month, I have realized that I “think” I can complete more work than I actually have time for. Back in August, I launched the 100 Article eHow Challenge but only wrote 72. This past month I planned to write 30 Hubs and 20 eHow articles. Both of those numbers came up short (20 Hubs and 12 eHow articles).
My active income source, also known as my job, really took a toll on me both physically and mentally. Any extra free time that I had away from my job was spent with my family, leaving very little time to work on building passive income. Things have slowed down a bit at work in October already so I plan to be a little more productive on building new income streams over the next few weeks.
FINAL Results
Here are my results from September 1, 2009 – September 30, 2009 -
HubPage Articles
- Published Articles – 20
- Article Views – Not Available
This was the first chance that I got to sit down and write some decent articles on HubPages. I had planned to write 30, but things just didn’t turn out that way. My goals for these articles were not to earn income directly from them but to test out some keywords that I am thinking of building a few sites against.
eHow Articles Published
- Week #1 – 1
- Week #2 – 0
- Week #3 – 6
- Week #4 – 5
- Total – 12
eHow Total Views & Earnings
- Article Views – 222
- Income Earned – $8.79
Since I only wrote 12 new articles, my eHow earnings did not jump nearly as much as last month. However, I was able to generate almost $9 in passive income earnings from these articles in their first month.
Are you looking for a free way to start increasing your income? If so, eHow is one option that allows you to accomplish this goal. There are people just like you earning over a $1,000 each month on a recurring basis just by writing “How To” articles. If you are new to eHow, one place to start is by checking out a great resource called – How to Earn Passive Income on eHow.com: Maximize Your Online Earnings. I purchased this resource several months ago and have made my money back within the first month using the guidelines laid out.
October Goals
I am not hosting any kind of monthly challenge for October, but I still have plenty of goals that I would love to accomplish. First off, remember those 20 Hubs I was talking about earlier? A few of them have gotten some nice traffic and I have launched a new site that will leverage these articles and keywords. This works out well for me as I am passionate about the topic and could write for days and days on it. I am taking my time building a solid structure for this site and have been using Micro Niche Finder as a way to structure this site’s keywords.
My other “big” project for the month is to begin writing my first eBook. I have been going back and forth on this, but I plan to write a FREE eBook detailing my experience writing for eHow. This will help me gain the experience of publishing an eBook for the first time which may eventually lead to something else down the road!
How did you make out in September?

It is cool to see you diversifying a bit. I am curious to see how these hubs progress over the next few months. I have heard that some people get good results by linking their hubs to infobarrel and ezinearticles.
BTW, $0.75 per article during the first month is awesome. I wish I could get those numbers!

Great to hear you’re writing an eBook, will be interested to see that even though I can’t get paid to write for eHow. I’m sure that will keep you very busy but will be worthwhile at the end. And I completely understand the problem of thinking you can get more done that you actually can – that’s what happens to me every month.
