What types of personal motivation techniques do you use to help stay focused and reach your goals? Most of the time I am highly motivated and focused on pursuing my goals for financial freedom through the creation of passive income. However, there are times when I may start second guessing myself or wondering if I am just wasting all my extra time building alternative streams of income.

In times of doubt, I look for personal motivators to help me get by. Here are 3 personal motivation tips that can be used to help you build your wealth and stay focused.

  1. Job – If you currently have a job with an employer, then I am sure you have been frustrated at some point in your career. Instead of getting angry or frustrated with your boss or co-worker, use this anger in a positive way. Turning your frustrations from work into motivation is a great tool that can keep you staying focused to reach your end goal.
  2. Peers – Identify a few of your peers in the niche or business that you are focusing on. Look for fellow peers both experienced and beginner so that you can follow their status and learn from them. One of the most powerful tools to motivate people is to read and follow others who are successful at the same thing.
  3. Dreams – In times of doubt, focus on your long term goals and dreams. Passive income is hard work that takes up a lot of your free time in the beginning. Define a list of long term goals and dreams of where you want to be in the future. Keep this list in front of you at all times and keep referring back to it. These longer range goals will help you get past those little bumps in the road.

Everyone needs to be motivated at some point in their lives. Whether it is a corporate CEO or a stay at home mom – motivation helps us get over the smaller hiccups in life so that we can reach our long range goals. Creating wealth through passive income is no different. Since you are typically your own boss – personal motivation is critical to your success!

My objective is to create enough passive income so that I can spend more time with my family while pursuing my dreams of owning my own business. In 10 years, I do not want to miss all of the Little Leagues games, or the science fair projects that my son is in. I am tired of saying :when I get caught up, I will do this.”

It all starts here!

The continued downturn of the economy, plus the inspiration from this and other blogs, motivated me to finally start my own blog. A journey starts with but one step, right? Having passive income gives you more options in a bad economy.

@Corporate – It is all about diversification. I figure if I can make it in this economy, I will be in very good shape when things get better.
