Save money on your Energy Bill

by passivefamilyincome on May 20, 2008

If you live in a home, turn down the thermostat on your water heater. The U.S. Department of Energy recommends turning down your water heater to 120 degrees to help reduce the amount of energy used to heat your water (Energy Savings). In some homes, it has been found to save up to 10% by turning it from 140 degrees to 120 degrees. We found that when we moved into our new home a few months ago, the builder automatically set the thermostat to 140 degrees which I immediately turned to 120 degrees.
